Restore the Republic
In our founding, the states and not the Federal Government were meant to address the needs of its citizens. States had representation in Congress and controlled the growth of centralized power.
To restore the Republic at a minimum the following steps should be taken:
- Restore representation back to the states. Repeal the 17th amendment.
- Eliminate the Federal Government’s ability to “black mail” states into compliance of unconstitutional mandates (speed limits, education etc.) The Federal Government may make suggestions on state issues like education but not withhold funding or other forms of favoritism.
- Courts should protect and strengthen state rights granted by the 10th amendment.
